Wildflower Border

As an experiment this year, a Wildflower border was created on the bank opposite the Edwardian toilets. The ground was prepared and in April, the border was sown with Follers Manor Annuals 100% Wildflower Mix which includes the following UK provenance native species: Corn Chamomile, Corncockle, Cornflower, Corn Marigold, Scentless Mayweed & Field Poppy. Plus Cultivated Annuals including: Gypsophila, Ammi majus, Coreopsis, Nigella, Linaria, Phacelia, California & Shirley Poppies.

The Wildflower border was a real hit with the ‘In Bloom’ judges. It seems to change on an almost daily basis, as different areas come into bloom at different times. Parts of the border are shaded, with other areas getting the full benefit of the sun. It’s well worth a look!
